From Novinite: The number of migrants and refugees transiting through Bulgaria appears to be declining.
Bulgaria is a main stop along one of the routes that bring migrants and refugees to Serbia.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Interior has reported that from the beginning of 2017 to mid-April, some 790 foreign nationals staying illegally in the country have been identified.
During the same period, 847 people were deported from Bulgaria. The current data also shows that 2,400 asylum seekers are located in government-run centers, where capacity is 46% full.
Meanwhile, capacity at closed centers is at 61 percent with 569 people held there. Another 440 foreign nationals are living in external housing.
Overall, there are currently fewer than 4,000 refugees and migrants in Bulgaria.
