In Fact: Being offered accommodation has nothing to do with the process of your asylum application in Greece.
Regardless of where you stay, either an official site or another location (hotel, apartment, squat), your asylum application will be examined by the Greek authorities in the same way.
Accommodation in the islands is usually offered by UNHCR or other NGOs that move people out of camps into apartments or hotels. Cash assistance is also provided in these places.
People who are vulnerable or in the most need are usually prioritized.
