About Us

Internews is an international non-profit organization whose mission is to empower local media worldwide to give people the news and information they need, the ability to connect and the means to make their voices heard.

NewsThatMoves recognises that information and communication is as essential in a crisis as any other kind of aid or support. We believe that to be properly informed is a human right and a humanitarian principle for all people who are displaced or seeking asylum, especially in Greece and the Balkans. People need information and communication to make decisions about their futures, access essential services, and make their own voices heard.

Based on these rights and principles, we produce independent, verified information people can use. We do not provide advice, we listen to people’s questions and concerns, and respond to them with articles and explanations. We provide updates on the most relevant issues, and we investigate and debunk rumours. We share verified information from all relevant sources, including humanitarian organisations, government authorities, human rights organisations, and others. And as much as possible, we provide platforms where community voices can be heard.

Please send us feedback or questions using the “Ask A Question” button on the homepage or via our Facebook pages in Farsi and Arabic or Twitter (in English). We are a small team, but we will endeavour to respond as quickly as we can.
