The Greek government has announced plans to move 10,000 refugees from camps to apartments before the end of 2017.
Migration Policy Minister Yiannis Mouzalas also told parliament that most camps in Greece will be closed after the moves are completed.
The Minister did not specify whether both mainland and island camps are to be included, or only those on the Greek mainland.
He added the government has sent the European Union a plan that foresees the closure of most camps in 2017, with the aim of having very few left open by 2018.
Asked about the situation at the overcrowded Elliniko camp near Athens, Mouzalas said moving the people living there is “our first priority.”
